Most people do not have a spending problem. They have a visibility problem.
I worked on the front line of Canadian banking. Every day, someone sat across from me with a statement they did not understand. A monthly fee they thought was waived. An NSF charge from a payment that bounced by a few dollars. A subscription that went up three dollars in March and nobody noticed. None of it was dramatic. All of it added up, and the statement was designed so you would not add it up.
I kept wishing I could give people one dashboard that said: here is every account, here is every dollar leaking out this year, here is the proof, here is what to do about each line. Plus the things a bank would rather you never had. No app I tried did that. They showed me pie charts of what I had spent. None of them showed me what I was being charged for nothing.
So I started building it. Looni reads your statements and builds an all-in-one dashboard: every account in one place, every fee, price rise, duplicate and forgotten charge, each with the transactions behind it and a dollar figure for the year, plus the tools your bank would rather you never had. Then it helps you fix them, one at a time, and keeps score.
Where we are today, no spin
- A free scan that runs entirely in your browser. Your file is never uploaded. You can watch the network tab and see for yourself.
- A founding list. Your first name and email, stored in Canada, confirmed by a link you click. Nothing else.
- No bank connections yet. When they come, they will be read-only through a licensed aggregator, and they will not go live before an independent security test. Our security page lists what is built and what is not.
- Looni is not a bank, does not hold or move money, and does not give financial advice. We show you your own numbers, clearly.
Three promises
We will never sell your data. Not to banks, not to advertisers, not to anyone. If Looni ever earns a referral fee when you switch a product, it will say so on the screen where you decide, and the ranking will be by what saves you the most, never by who pays us.
You can leave with everything. Ask and we delete it all. The steps are on our delete your data page, with the exact timelines.

Looni is built by a founding team of two in Ottawa, with engineering help from people we have worked with for years. We are Canadian, we bank at the same institutions you do, and we built this because we wanted it for ourselves.
